Maxfield Darnell

Production Manager

Hometown: Elk River, MN

Max is a transfer student. Max has an Associate’s Degree in Liberal Arts from Anoka-Ramsey Community College in Coon Rapids MN. Max’s time spent here at SCSU is cut in half because of that so I have been trying to be involved in as much as he can. Max started Fall 2020 and will graduate Spring 2022. Max graduated from Elk River High School in which he was one of the head producers for the class Media Production for two years. He wrote scripts, edited segments, planned the shows, directed talent and content, and produced the yearbook DVD for his senior class. His inspiration for pursuing his degree stems from his dad recording old family events on tape, making silly videos when he was a kid, and working with the Media Team in high school.

UTVS is the sole reason why Max wanted to attend SCSU. Working for a news station in the broadcast studio is Max’s dream job. Max started out as a crew member for MNL, Husky Tonight, Week in Review, and News. He is now a producer for MNL, has won a few awards for his performance, and will still be involved in other shows alongside being production manager.

His outside hobbies outside of school include spending time with friends from back home, finding new breweries located in MN, doing something creative like arts & crafts, and spending time outside hammocking or longboarding.
